For Personal Trainers, Physios, Chiropractors, Osteopaths & Nutritionists

Give your clients the data behind the results.
A DEXA scan measures bone density and body composition with imaging-grade precision, well beyond what scales, skinfolds or BIA devices can offer. Refer a client to us and you won’t just be sending them for a scan. You’ll both receive the full report.

Why refer

One scan, measurements you can build a whole program around.

Whatever your discipline, the assessments you rely on day to day, tape measures, skinfolds, bathroom scales or bioelectrical impedance, are all estimates. Hydration, timing and technique can shift the numbers from one session to the next, which makes it hard to say with confidence whether a client’s program is actually working.

A DEXA scan removes that guesswork. It gives you a single, reliable measurement of bone density and body composition that you and your client can both refer back to, session after session.

Bone mineral density at the hip and spine, reported against age and sex-matched norms.
Lean mass and fat mass,  measured separately rather than estimated from a single weight.
Visceral fat rating, a marker scales and callipers can’t see at all.
Segmental breakdown across arms,  legs and trunk, useful for spotting asymmetries.

Relevant to your practice

Reasons to refer, by discipline.

The value of a DEXA scan looks a little different depending on what you’re treating, training or advising for. Here’s where it tends to matter most.

Personal Trainers

Show the change scales can't see.

When a client’s weight barely moves but their program is working, a DEXA scan can show the lean mass gained and the fat mass lost underneath it. It’s objective evidence for a muscle gain or fat loss program, and a natural prompt to review and adjust training every three to six months.

Physiotherapists

Understand what's beneath the movement.

Bone density is central to how you approach load-bearing rehab, particularly for clients with a fracture history, long-term steroid use, or those returning to exercise after menopause. A baseline scan gives you a clearer picture before you decide how hard, and how soon, to load.

Chiropractors & Osteopaths

Add a bone health lens to musculoskeletal care.

Postural and spinal presentations in older or post-menopausal clients often sit alongside declining bone density. A DEXA scan gives you an objective baseline to discuss alongside your own findings, and supports a more complete picture of a client’s musculoskeletal health.

Nutritionists & Dietitians

Track the metabolic picture, not just the scale.

Visceral fat and lean mass preservation matter more than total weight when you’re guiding a client through a cut, a recomposition, or a longer-term metabolic health goal. A re-scan every three to six months shows whether the plan is protecting muscle while the fat comes off.

Referral report

Two copies. One conversation.

Your client leaves their appointment with their own copy of the results. You receive a copy too, sent directly to you as the referring professional, so you’re not relying on your client to remember the numbers or forward on a report.

That means the data is ready and waiting for your next session, whether you’re adjusting a training block, a rehab plan, or a nutrition strategy.

Your client

Receives their full report at the clinic, in plain language, to keep for their own records.

You, the referrer

Receive the same report directly, ready to fold straight into your next session with them.

How it works

Referring a client takes a few minutes.

01

Complete the referral form

Fill in your client’s details and the reason for the scan so we can recommend the right assessment.

02

Your client books their scan

They choose a time at Mirrabooka or Perth CBD, whichever suits them best.

03

You both receive the report

Your client gets their copy on the day, and a copy comes straight to you as the referring professional.
